We just received the most wonderful book by a talented children’s author and a talented illustrator–“Oh, How You Sparkle!” It is beautifully written by “Kiki Ollie,” its thoughts and messages made all the more meaningful to a child by the exquisite illustrations of Lena Bardy. And importantly, it arrived at just the perfect time–our first grandchild is due in the next couple of weeks. I can imagine sitting in a comfortable armchair, holding the new addition to our family, and reading him the text while he marvels at the colorful and engaging images. He won’t understand them now, of course, but this is a book that he will want to have read to him (or read himself when he can) over and over as the years pass. It will make a wonderful gift for any child. The younger ones will love the images, those slightly older will appreciate the messages of unconditional love.
